Dominican Rep. LNB round 7 best performance: Tu Holloway (by Hoops Agents)

American Point guard Tu Holloway (183-PG-1989) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Metros de Santiago, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 35-year old player tried to help (25 points, five rebounds and eight assists) his team in a lost game to Caneros (#3, 5-4) 95-107. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Despite this loss Metros managed to keep Dominican Rep. LNB leading position. They afford to lose this game, but they have to be very careful to avoid similar "accidents". Metros has a very solid 6-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Holloway had a remarkable seven three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He just recently signed at Metros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Xavier University star has very solid stats this year. Holloway is in league's top in assists (5th best: 5.5apg) and averages impressive 64.0% FGP and 47.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Sydney Curry (203-F-2000, agency: JCK Sports Group) of Marineros de Puerto Plata. Curry had a very good evening with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Marineros was edged by slightly higher-ranked Indios (#6, 4-4) 91-90. This loss caused Marineros to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-5 record. Curry is one of the most experienced players at Marineros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#3). He also registered 9.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Richard Bautista (185-PG-1997) of Titanes del Distrito Nacional (#4). Bautista scored 24 points and passed 8 assists. Despite Bautista's great performance the Titanes lost 80-93 to #2 ranked Reales. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Titanes needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Bautista has a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.9ppg (4th best), rebounds with 6.9rpg (8th best) and assists with 8.4apg (2nd best). He also has 2.7spg and a FGP of 52.4%.
